Pranams,
Let
us now visit the other sannadhis.
We
saw about the different forms of the Para Brahmam i.e Para, vyuha,
vibhava, antaryami and the archai in the previous postings. Among
them the archavataram is full of Saulabhyam, visible even to a common
man. Among all the Archavatharams in this world, our Acharyas regard
3 as the top most. To our surprise all 3 forms are present in
Thiruvallikeni.
The
first and foremost of the DivyaDesams considered the most important
by all the alwars and mainly by the acharyas, is Koil, SRIRANGAM
(also called Bhoga mandapam). Alwars call it Thalai Arangam the head
of divya desams and even it is said that the Nammazhvar's
thiruvaimozhi is sung in the praise of Sri Ranganatha. It is no
wonder that all our acharyas spent most of their lifetime in
Srirangam, considered as the Bhooloka Vaikundam. Even today, in all
the
DivyaDesams,
Srivaishnavas, during satrumarai say "Adiyargal Vazha
Aranganagar Vazha Sadagopan Than Tamizh Nool Vazha Kadal Soozhdha
Mannulagam Vazha Manavala Mamuniyae Ennum Oru Nootrandirum". It
is a
faith
that, if Srirangam lives, all other Divya Desams will also flourish
and also that all DivyaDesa Emperumans go each night to Srirangam to
take rest. But the lord Ranganatha with so many praises couldn’t
get what he wanted in Srirangam. Yes, I mean Vedavalli. He wanted to
marry Vedavalli Thayar and hence he rushed to Thiruvallikeni and
settled there with the Mariyadai of a Mappilai. So we see Mannathan
enjoying himself in Thiruvallikeni. Even in our day-to-day life we
see a person has more respect in his in-laws place than in his own
house. So Srirangam is Ranganatha’s Sondha Gruham and
Thiruvallikeni is his in laws place as he fell in love with Sri
Vedavalli and came here to marry her. So In Thiruvallikeni Mannathan
is full of charm leaving all his tensions in Srirangam itself.
Then
the second important DivyaDesam to the SriVaishnavas is the
Thirumalai, THIRUPATHI (pushpa mandapam). This world famous perumal,
doesn’t require any introduction. Even in America we find Srinivasa
temles throughout. So I need not tell much about him. In the olden
days, a king by the name Sumathi was a great devotee of the
Thirupathi Emperuman. He once went to Srinivasa and asked him to
give him darshan as he was in the Krishna Avatara. Srinivasa asked
King Sumathy to go to Thiruvallikeni and promised to give him darshan
there as Venkata Krishnan. The king did so and got the beautiful
darshan of the lord and asked him to stay in the same form for the
other bhakthas also to enjoy and so we are able to enjoy the beauty
of Sri VenkataKrishnan even today. So the lord today in
Thiruvallikeni is none other than the Thirupathi Srinivasan himself.
Probably Srinivasan thought that Thirupathi is always flooded with
bhakthas so why not choose another place to settle peacefully with
his family. And no wonder he choose Brindaranyam where there is cool
breeze and such good atmosphere very near to the sea. So
Thiruvallikeni is otherwise called Erandam Thirupathi. The
fortunate/unfortunate part is the crowd in Thiruvallikeni is also
increasing day by day like in thirupathi.
The
third important DivyaDesam is the PERUMAL KOIL, KANCHI (called the
Thyaga mandapam, Athigiri). Here the Emperuman Varadharajan is
waiting to give whatever his bhakthas wish to have. When anyone says
kanchi what do we remember? Yes, the GARUDASEVAI. But we can see
Kanchi Varadan on the garuda vahanam only on that day during the
Vaikasi Utsavam. But in Thiruvallikeni, what a wonder!! You can have
the darshan of Gajendra Varadan on Garudan whenever you go(Nitya
garudasevai). Yes the Moolavar is on top of garudan. Can u tell me
anyother DivyaDesam with such a wonderful sevai all through the year?
Emperuman
showed his Apaara Karunyam when he came running to save Gajendran,
the elephant from the clutches of the crocodile as soon as Gajendran
shouted 'Aadhimoolame'. Gajendrazhvan, as our acharyas refer to
this
great bhaktha of Emperuman , then requested Perumal that he should
come during the andhimadasai of all the bhakthas as he did for him
today. And Emperuman assured him that he will come and give darshan
to all those who will think of him and Gajendran each day early
morning when they wake up. That is why our acharyas wake up reciting
the Gajendra stuti or the sloka 'Grahagrasthe Gajendrae' or atleast
by uttering Gajendra Varada loudly while waking. Now that Perumal has
given the assurity to Gajendra that he will give the same sevai to
all the bhakthas, he is waiting on the back of Garuda to fullfil his
assurity, so that he
Will
not be late to the call of any bhaktha. That is why he is seen on
Nithya Garudasevai in Thiruvallikeni. He is waiting to pour his Divya
Darshanam to all his bhakthas during their andimadasai(death bed) and
thereby grant moksham.
Kanchi
Deva Perumals 6 words to Sri Ramanuja through Thirukachi Nambigal is
known to all. Where he says "Antimasmriti varjanam". When
according to Sastras last thought is necessary why does DevaPerumal
refute it? Its because he very well knows that even though the
Prapanna doesn’t think of him in the last moment he is going to go
and stand in front of him in the Garudasevai to maintain his vow
given to Gajendrazhvan. So when Emperuman is in front, can anyone
forget him? So he says Antimasmriti is not necessary for Prapannas.
In Thiruvallikeni Emperuman is in the ready posture to grant Moksham
to the bhakthas and prapannas.
Have
you ever known a place with more important features and wonders like
this? This kshetram has all the divinity and that’s why all
Emperumans prefer to stay over here, ready to help all the bhakthas.
It’s Emperuman’s comfortable home where he is away from tensions
and free to help and grant moksham. So in future when you visit
India you need not find time to go to all the three DivyaDesams just
visit Thiruvallikeni and get the essence of enjoying all the three
Divyadesam’s Emperumans and cool breeze of the kairavini
pushkarini.
I
have talked about all the Perumal sannadhis atleast to an extent but
I fear whether I can utter even a drop in the ocean of the Magimai
of the Thayar and
beloved
Andal, the consort of Sri Parthasarathi. Anyway let me try it in the
next posting. Till then let us meditate on the 3 great Divyadesa
Perumals in Thiruvallikeni. Sri Ranganathan, Sri Srinivasan and Sri
Varadharajan all in the same place with all their charm and kalyana
gunas in Thiruvallikeni.
